Complexity is the enemy of most new bitcoiners.

You are 10x more likely to fuck yourself than have your sats taken through a hack or theft.

Keep it simple.

Anyone heard or used E foundation?

Looks like a fork of LineageOS that supports a wide range of devices. Available pre built for those that don't want to get their hands dirty.

Mined my first 1,000,000 sats. Took 16 days. Cost about $160.00.

My utility provider could have obtained the electricity I used from coal, hydro, solar; I don't know where they got it. It doesn't matter, that's on them to source it. I paid for it & can use it however I want.

Don't be put off by the terminology in that guide. From ordering my VPS to having my own Matrix server, took me less than 40 minutes, it really is not difficult at all!

If you want to get started with Yunohost or Matrix and learn more on how you can do the same...

After chatting with some of the pros, I spun up another VPS (takes 5 mins) + followed this guide to install my own Matrix server.

It looks complicated but I literally copy + pasted the commands 1 by 1, easy!

After doing that, I'd caught the hosting bug I wanted to try my own Matrix.org server. Matrix is 'An open network for secure, decentralized communication'.

It is to Telegram what Mastodon is to Twitter.

If you want to do the same, @Diverter_NoKYC
has this awesome guide (which he's self hosting, obviously!) and was the impetus for me to finally make a move.

In light of the increasing frequency of censorship events coupled with awesome guides from bitcoiners like @Diverter_NoKYC
+ @_k3tan
, I've taken steps to become a little more sovereign + less reliant on 'the man'. Here's a few tweets to hopefully inspire you to do the same...

A node is the eye through which you interpret your Bitcoin world. Not using your own node is the equivalent of viewing bitcoin through someone else's eyes, you only see what they want you see.

Take your blinkers off.
